We are the only polo school in Argentina open all year round. Our excellent facilities include 2 regulation-sized polo fields, all weather arena polo, wooden horse cage and a selection of over 200 polo ponies. With these facilities we can maximize instruction regardless of weather conditions. Federico also has his registered polo pony breeding program based at the estancia which is very interesting to learn about the process of making polo ponies. Please consult us for our rates. We offer discounts for long stays, the low-season, for non-playing companions and for groups.
What does it include?
Your days at El Venado are carefully crafted to let you relax and focus on improving your polo.
The morning breakfast and instruction:
Wake up on your own schedule and come together at the breakfast table for coffee, juice, toast, cereals and fruit. When you are ready, take a walk over to the stables to hop on your pony and head to the field for some stick and ball and your polo lesson. Spend your time perfecting your technique and riding skills as El Venado professionals offer personalised coaching and tips.
Afternoon Lunch and Siesta:
Enjoy a prepared Argentine lunch as a group and discuss the day's activities on the estancia. We all get together for meals with Federico and his wife Ines and the polo pros's so even if you travel alone, you are immediately part of the group when you arrive. You can then relax by the poolside, take a walk around the grounds, have a siesta or read a book to relax and recharge before the afternoon polo game.
Practice Chukkas and cocktail hour:
We head to the polo field in the late afternoon for practice chukkas where your instruction will continue. Between each chukka you have time to go through each play with your pro who is happy to explain rules and strategy. When we get back to the main house for a shower, the smell of home cooked empanadas and pizza under the galleria bring us together again and with delicious Argentine wine we relax and share our stories of the day!
As El Venado Polo School is based on a working estancia , there are also activities such as helping the gauchos with herding the cows or the young horses. For those who would like to bring their companions, there is a lot of riding around the farm for those that do not fancy polo lessons.
For the past 50 years, Argentina has been the mecca of the polo world. It has produced more top players, horses and teams than all other nations combined. To indulge yourself in the ultimate polo experience, El Venado Polo School is a must. Year-round instruction in Argentina, England, New York, and Hawaii is tailored to the individual's needs and provided personally by El Venado's owner Federico Cendoya, a 5-goal pro.
Although polo enthusiasts of all levels enjoy El Venado's facilities, Federico provides specially prepared programs for beginners of all ages. This includes selected ponies, gear and polo exercises to adapt to the individual need and maximize the learning experience.
El Venado is committed to providing the highest quality polo instruction. For this reason, players are organized in small groups in order to maximize personalized, one-on-one lessons.
El Venado Polo School operates at four international locations through-out the year, taking advantage of the best polo playing seasons.
Federico Cendoya, El Venado's owner and a 5-goal pro polo player, travels to all locations to personally conduct all polo classes and instruction.
This one-on-one teaching method, rare for high-goal polo players, is the trademark that has proved successful for the polo school.
